About us

We are both travellers! Chris has travelled the world through his work as an agronomist and I'm a committed nomad who gets itchy feet ... far too often, I'm told!

And so it is that we now find ourselves in Africa long-term, Kenya for a year, thereafterTanzania, with a stretch on Unguja (otherwise known as Zanzibar). Thanks to COVID we decided to commit to exploring - we are not young and love to see as much of the world as possible. We had both travelled through the African continent decades previously but never thought we would actually end up living here. But here we are, and absolutely loving it.  So, here's to our new life in Namibia - so far so good. The main languages here are English and German, and Namibia is often termed as Africa for Beginners.

My sister, Eva, persuaded me to start a blog about our trials and tribulations; joys and frustrations of settling down (that's never going to happen Eva) and making memories on this wonderful continent.
